"You may not understand today or tomorrow, but eventually God will reveal why you went through everything you did." -Donald Miller
I believe this to be true.
There was this one day on outreach, our last week, when we visited a coffee shop in Rayong, Thailand. We had gone to go meet with the owner and try out his coffee shop of course. Little did we know this ended up being an incredible divine appointment that God had clearly been setting up and planning on taking place for a long long time. The whole time I was in the shop listening to the owners story I was amazed at how big our God is.
On the 45 minute ride back to our hotel I was sitting in the car completely in awe of our God. As I sat there God replayed in my mind multiple visions of moments in my past where I had wondered why. Moments where things fell through and they didn't make sense. Relationships that had ended and I couldn't understand why. He brought me back, and he said "Emily, I am faithful."
At this same exact time I turned and looked behind me to see the most beautiful sunset, and again I was at a loss for understanding at how big God is. He said to me as I stare at the sun, "See you can trust me." He knows my heart. He knows my past. He knows my future. He knows my every moment. He knows my right now.
He showed me that He is my defender, he has protected me through out my life from some pretty horrific outcomes, which at the time, in my blindness, made no sense to me. But he was there.
I am not to big to get in Gods way.
So I've learned that God is worthy of my Trust. He has proved it to me. Why shouldn't I trust a God who has never left me, one that has allowed me to slip because of my sin, but never forsake me or turned his face. He knows what He is doing. So I will let him have control. I will obey him.
